Slam on the Brakes, Pull Over, Take the Picture

Weekly Photo Challenge: Endure through Poetry

Weathered

Sometimes enduring take a toll.
We rust, pieces fall off
bravely still we stand
no longer of use
but a witness

to the procession
of the stars
that passed our way
when we shined
our brightest.

  1. In an odd way, Carol, it’s the machine losing its ‘clothing’. A cool way to regard the prompt, even if that wasn’t the intention!

  2. Love the message of your poem and the picture was just icing on the cake…. it is almost stripped to bare bones.

  3. “witness to the procession of stars,” I really like that phrasing, Carol…great poem. 🙂

  4. NICE take! Love this.
